Guild hall and guards

The guild hall is a mid-game civic building where adventurers gather. Lyra Fairhollow asks you to raise it after the town hall is standing. See her villager page for the build quest.

Once the hall is finished you can hire guards, draw patrol routes, and use the command post for a top-down battlefield view.

Hiring guards

Talk to adventurers at the guild hall to hire them as guards. Guards come as knights, archers, and mages. They patrol your town and fight hostile mobs. They will not attack villagers, tourists, or other guards.

Guards need a route or orders to know where to go. Unassigned guards still defend nearby threats when they can.

Patrol wand

Craft the patrol wand at the town planning desk. Blue sparkles mark saved routes only while you hold the wand.

Build mode (default)

  • Right click the ground — add a patrol point.
  • Right click a point — remove it.
  • Left click a point on a saved route — select that route for editing.
  • F — name and save the route (needs at least two points).
  • R — toggle closed loop (guards loop from last point back to first) vs back and forth.
  • E — start a fresh route.
  • Q — switch to Assign mode.

Assign mode

  • Left click a route point — select a saved route.
  • F — open the guard list and assign someone to the route.
  • E — clear the guard from the selected route.
  • Q — switch to Build mode.

Selected routes glow green; other routes stay blue. Guards with more than one route take turns walking each loop.

Command post

Place a guard command post stool in town (creative or progression unlock). Use it to enter command mode — a top-down RTS-style view of your town.

Camera and selection

  • WASD — pan the battlefield view.
  • Space / Ctrl — fly up and down to zoom.
  • Scroll or number keys — switch command tools.
  • Click a guard — select them.
  • Shift + click — add or remove from selection.
  • Drag a box — select many guards at once.

Orders

  • Attack-move / Move tool — right click the ground to send selected guards. Ability1 switches between attack-move and move-only. Ability2 stops selected guards.
  • Focus fire tool — right click a creature to focus your guards on it.
  • Stance toolAbility1 cycles combat stance (defensive, aggressive, stand ground, hold fire) for selected guards.
  • Free tool — right click to release selected guards from your orders.
  • Select all / by type — roster buttons on the HUD.
  • Leave command tool (hotbar slot 8) — exit command mode.

The command post must sit inside your town lands to work. You need at least one hired guard.

Quest board

The guild hall also holds the quest board for daily fetch, hunt, and raid jobs. See Quest board under Mechanics.
