Player shop and shop spots
Shop spot blocks live inside finished building plots. They let NPCs and players sell items in the world instead of only through dialogue menus.
NPC shops
Villager shops — Vex's general store, the Florist, Pyrotechnic, Crystal Keeper, and others — restock at dawn from loot tables. Each spot shows a floating item display; the stall's facing rotates the display.
- F (use) — open the buy panel with quantity controls (±1, ±10, max).
- Look-at HUD — shows item name, price, and stock while you aim at a stocked spot.
Vex now runs a general store selling furniture, blocks, and consumables through shop spots in his market stall and related buildings.
Your own shop
After Vex's market stall is built, Vex offers Your Own Shop:
- Take the player shop plot token from Vex.
- Stake and build the player shop prefab.
- Find Vex and close the quest in dialogue.
The player shop includes shop spot blocks and a shop safe that holds gold from your sales.
Listing items
- Right click a shop spot while holding an item — list it for sale (player-controlled spots only).
- Right click again on your own listing — remove it from the spot.
Buyers press F on stocked spots to purchase. You receive a notification when someone buys your listing, and gold collects in the shop safe.
Who shops
Villagers and tourists browse player shop spots and buy listed items when they visit town. Price and stock matter — empty spots are skipped.
Permissions
Town members need permission to sell on player shop spots. The town owner can adjust member permissions from the town records shelf.
See Plot tokens under Mechanics for crafting plot tokens at the plot crafting bench.
