Berry Patch

Apprentices tend berry bushes and collect ripe berries as inventory items.

Set it up

  1. Recruit the Druid, finish their work building and unlock Berry Patch through their Apprentice workplace controls. You need a free workplace slot under that supervisor.
  2. Use the Building Staff, choose Create workplace, and mark two opposite ground corners inside town. Choose Berry Patch, name the area and save. Include the whole Farmer's Workbench in its marked area and height.
  3. Employ a civilian Townsfolk with a nonzero Farming skill. On the journal's Work page, enable Berry Patch; priority 1 is highest. Pay their wages and leave a clear walking route.

Plant berry bushes from the Florist inside the marked area around the Farmer's Workbench. The workplace tends up to eight bushes. Leave access to each bush; the worker needs the Berry Patch priority enabled.

Work and output

The worker waters and harvests the bushes, which ripen again themselves. Berries stay in the workplace store and can be collected there or through the warehouse's production view. Couriers can take them to kitchens.

If work is waiting

This workplace does not add the Farming workplace's food-support bonus. Check that bushes and their bases are inside the area, that the worker can reach them, and that the store has room.

Keep the area nearby and loaded. Workers also take breaks for their needs. Open Apprentice workplaces for shared staff controls, Work priorities and wages for employment, and Warehouse and deliveries for supplies.
