Blacksmithing

Apprentices forge weapons, tools and unlocked profession equipment.

Set it up

  1. Recruit the Blacksmith, finish their work building and unlock Blacksmithing through their Apprentice workplace controls. You need a free workplace slot under that supervisor.
  2. Use the Building Staff, choose Create workplace, and mark two opposite ground corners inside town. Choose Blacksmithing, name the area and save. Include the whole Blacksmith's Anvil in its marked area and height.
  3. Employ a civilian Townsfolk with a nonzero Blacksmithing skill. On the journal's Work page, enable Blacksmithing; priority 1 is highest. Pay their wages and leave a clear walking route.

Open the anvil's task page, choose a recipe and order a quantity, continuous crafting or a stock target. A recipe can require a stronger bench, a town unlock and a skilled worker. Bring its ingredients to town storage.

Work and output

Finished orders go to Crafted Goods. Collect them on the task page or at the warehouse. A courier supplies ingredients when Logistics is enabled.

If work is waiting

Read the selected recipe's requirements. A skilled smith still cannot use a missing or under-tier anvil, and an unlocked recipe still needs ingredients.

Keep the area nearby and loaded. Workers also take breaks for their needs. Open Apprentice workplaces for shared staff controls, Work priorities and wages for employment, and Warehouse and deliveries for supplies.
