Block Workshop

Apprentices make planks, bricks, stairs, slabs, roofs and other building blocks to order.

Set it up

  1. Recruit the Builder, finish their work building and unlock Block Workshop through their Apprentice workplace controls. You need a free workplace slot under that supervisor.
  2. Use the Building Staff, choose Create workplace, and mark two opposite ground corners inside town. Choose Block Workshop, name the area and save. Include the whole Builder's Workbench in its marked area and height.
  3. Employ a civilian Townsfolk with a nonzero Building skill. On the journal's Work page, enable Block Workshop; priority 1 is highest. Pay their wages and leave a clear walking route.

Select Block Workshop, not Builder's Yard, when saving the area. Open the bench's task page and choose recipes. Order a quantity, continuous work or a stock target, then provide ingredients in town storage.

Work and output

Finished blocks go to Crafted Goods and can be collected on the task page or at the warehouse. The worker stays at the bench while crafting; they do not place these blocks into a construction project.

If work is waiting

Enable the Block Workshop priority. Check the selected recipe's Building skill, bench tier and unlock requirements. The same bench opens a different page when it belongs to a Builder's Yard.

Keep the area nearby and loaded. Workers also take breaks for their needs. Open Apprentice workplaces for shared staff controls, Work priorities and wages for employment, and Warehouse and deliveries for supplies.
