Crafting
Apprentices make supplies, repair items, equipment and unlocked seed or sapling recipes.
Set it up
- Recruit the Crafter, finish their work building and unlock Crafting through their Apprentice workplace controls. You need a free workplace slot under that supervisor.
- Use the Building Staff, choose Create workplace, and mark two opposite ground corners inside town. Choose Crafting, name the area and save. Include the whole Workbench in its marked area and height.
- Employ a civilian Townsfolk with a nonzero Crafting skill. On the journal's Work page, enable Crafting; priority 1 is highest. Pay their wages and leave a clear walking route.
Recruit Tobin to his Artisan Workshop and unlock Crafting. Use the workplace's ordinary Workbench to queue recipes with a quantity, continuous crafting or a stock target. Supply ingredients from town storage.
Work and output
Finished goods appear in Crafted Goods and on the task page. Seed and sapling recipes are also ordered here, but use the worker's Farming skill for their recipe requirement. Keep Crafting enabled for that worker.
If work is waiting
Check the skill named by the recipe, its bench tier and unlock. A Joiner's Toolbox speeds Crafting when equipped. A Pattern Cabinet improves attended work inside the site; it does not replace the bench or waive recipe requirements.
Keep the area nearby and loaded. Workers also take breaks for their needs. Open Apprentice workplaces for shared staff controls, Work priorities and wages for employment, and Warehouse and deliveries for supplies.
